Sunil Punjabi asked:

There are varieties of hair loss shampoos in the market, but administering them without the recommendations of a dermatologist is not recommended. There is no dearth of proffered hair loss cures as different companies are vying with each other to come out with effective hair loss treatments. Many of these could be effective as well. But to understand the deciding factors of its effectiveness, and more importantly, to find out which one could be most effective for you, you should ideally go through hair loss reviews, and also get a definitive opinion from a dermatologist. Cause and solution are interlinked and using the latter without knowing the former will not bring in good results.

A person’s hair grows all through their life. Even when they are old and their other organs could be in a phase of decline, the hairs keep on growing, though at a lesser rate than when they were young. An inch and a half is the normal growth rate of hair in a man in his prime and he may shed up to hundred hairs a day. A hair grows for a period of two years to six years. Most of the hair - up to 90% of it - will be in the growing phase. The remainder will be in what is known as resting phase, in preparation to getting shed. When these hairs get shed, it is not hair loss, but only the closure of a healthy cycle of hair growth and death.

When more than the normal quota of hair is lost, it gets categorized as hair loss. This excess loss could be due to a variety of reasons like malnutrition, side effects of drugs, or aftermath of an illness. Ironically, cosmetic hair treatments like bleaching, dying, or perming, can cause loss of hair, as the chemicals contained in the bleaching or dying agents can be conducive to hair loss. Likewise, during perming, or permanent waving, hair is subjected to treatments that may not suit the hair structure of everyone. Hair loss reviews can help abundantly in understanding these hair treatments and testing its applicability to one’s own hair structure and lifestyle. Some of these beautifying processes might even counteract the hair loss treatments one is undergoing.

There is a medical condition known as Alopecia areata which is a common cause for hair loss. It is also known as spot baldness because in the early stages it appears as bald spots on the scalp, though later it might strip the scalp of every hair. However, the single most common reason for glabrousness, at least in the case of males, is seen to be hereditary factors. All men do not seem to see loss of hair or premature baldness as something negative, for there are cases of voluntary hair removal for comfort, as a personality insignia, or in accordance with the principles of a sect. Even for them, reading hair loss reviews might do some good, as the reviews even analyze the usefulness of a head full of hair. Caps, wigs, veils, scarves, and hairnets, put in their share for fighting hair loss cosmetically, if not medically.

For more information on Hair Loss Reviews and information on Reviews of Shampoos, Cures, Pills, and Treatments, please do visit our site - http://www.healthwatch.info/ or write to us

Credit Card Vending Machine

Robert Campanile asked:

Some men never go “bald” but everyone’s hair thins out over the years. The term androgenetic refers to the fact that common balding requires both male hormones (androgens) and a genetic tendency to lose hair. Because there are many genes involved, however, you can’t look at your parents and know how much hair you will lose or how fast you will lose it. In particular, the idea that hair loss is passed down from the mother’s side of the family is folklore, not fact.

Hair loss may be hereditary or because of increasing air and water pollution. There is no single reason for this problem. Mostly hair loss or baldness is not associated with systemic or internal disease, nor is poor diet a frequent factor. Thyroid disease can cause hair loss, but thyroid tests on people who have ordinary hair loss are usually normal. Although many medications list “hair loss” among their potential side effects, drugs are also not overall common causes of thinning or lost hair. On the other hand, with cancer treatments and immune suppression medications, hair loss is not uncommon.

Many conditioners, shampoos, vitamins, and other products, as well as procedures involving lasers and heat, claim to help hair grow in unspecified ways. These are harmless but useless and not worth the investment. To slow down hair loss, there are just two medically proven options:

Baldness generally involves hair loss on head where it often grows. There are different stages in hair loss it starts from hair thinning and this condition called androgenic alopecia or “male pattern baldness” that occurs in adult male humans and other species. The amount and patterns of baldness can vary greatly; it ranges from male and female pattern alopecia (androgenic alopecia, also called androgenetic alopecia or alopecia androgenetica), alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body.

There are various ways to camouflage hair that has already gone. These include hairpieces or hair-weaving processes. Toupees require tape or other ways to keep them from sliding off, and they also stretch and oxidize. Hair weaves loosen and need periodic restyling.Techniques for performing surgical procedures like scalp reduction and hair transplants have improved over the years, producing better, more natural results. Transplant surgeons do their best to use hair that is not genetically programmed to fall out later. Taking Propecia after a transplant also helps to retain hair. Shaving the scalp has been fashionable and is an option other than trying to grow more hair.

There is one useful way to classify hair loss is by whether the loss is localized and patchy, or whether it affects large areas or the whole scalp.

Fenwick Fishing Rods

CGH asked:

I know that Pugs are not supposed to live outside, but we have no choice unfortunately. We did construct a very nice, large insulated, heated and air conditioned dog house for them. They get their shots, worm medicines, flea and tick prevention, good food and fresh water. They are played with and loved a great deal.
I recently shaved both pugs, like they do at the groomers, and I was saddened to see that the somewhat spotty coat I noticed on one of the pugs prior to shaving her was much worse looking than I had thought. The shaving revealed the extent of the patchy hair loss. I very rarely ever see them scratching themselves, so I don’t know if it hurts or is uncomfortable for her.
What would be some probably causes of this?

Decorate Fireplace Mantel

Irina Thorton asked:

Suffering from hair loss? If it’s any consolation, this is truly a great age to be born in if you have the genetic predisposition for hair loss. That’s because there are now a lot of research developments that will allow you to prevent and even re-grow your hair. Here’s what you need to know about hair loss research.

Current Research

Current research developments have truly come up with effective solutions for hair loss. Unfortunately, solution scams have also multiplied. It is important to remember that in order for you to find real treatments for hair loss, you have to conduct your own hair loss research. Find out the real causes of hair loss, possible solutions for hair loss and scientific evidences that can support available solutions.

There are numerous studies that have been conducted about possible hair loss solutions. In a nutshell, here is what current hair loss research has to say about treating hair loss:

The Androgenetic Alopecia - There are different kinds of hair loss but the most common is androgenetic alopecia in which genes and hormones cause hair loss. In this condition, hair loss can be medically treated by taking medicine that can stimulate hair growth or one that can block the hormone that causes hair loss. There is one of each kind of medicine. Both are FDA approved but only one of them can be safely used by females.

Hair Loss Surgery - The other medical method borne out of hair loss research that can treat hair loss is surgery. One popular method is hair transplantation in which healthy hairs are taken from the back of the scalp and transplanted to the balding area. This method is expensive. Clients also lament the fact that there are limits to the amount of hair that can be transplanted. In other words, even after transplantation, hair rarely ever looks plentiful or full.

Saw Palmetto - Surprisingly, hair loss research has revealed that the herb saw palmetto has some potential in treating male hair loss. Although more hair loss research is needed, current research findings reveal that the herb that was originally studied for prostate health has some DHT blocking properties.

Future Hair Loss Treatment

The above mentioned solutions summarize the options you can take for hair loss remedy. There is however some hope for future developments in hair loss treatment. Given below are promising hair loss research studies being conducted:

The Genes - Gene therapy hair loss research is very much on everyone’s mind but it is actually a method that is still being developed. Since genes are responsible for androgenetic alopecia, scientists believe that they may be able to remedy hair loss if they found a way to manipulate, modify or correct genes.

Replication of Hair Cells - There is now actually a patented method for replicating hair cells from hair samples and injecting the cells into the balding areas. Scientists are conducting more hair loss research on this technique.

DHT Blocking Drug - There is some evidence that a new drug is being developed that can hopefully block DHT better and more thoroughly than the currently available medicine.

Goodman Heat Pumps

Dr.Anees asked:

How to identify best hair loss products?

Our society is coming bald; you can find a bald person in every nook and corner of your locality. You don’t need to search, if you are the one. Hair loss is a deficiency that can make any person bald. Earlier, it was the men, now it is affecting the women also in equal proportion. Sometime children also suffer with hair loss. In fact, hair loss is a natural phenomenon and also happens as biological clock ticks but if this clock ticks frequently, then it is called a deficiency, the baldness. This might happen because of improper nutrition, low hygiene, various environmental circumstances etc.

One’s loss is others gain; the saying goes well in case of baldness too.

A number of products are available in the market to prevent hair loss and that too with 100% guarantee. But if that is the case, then today it would be difficult to find such a man / women in the area you live, because these hair loss products are existing in the market since decades and public is buying and trying the different products to stay much hairy. The person who has hair on head and makes their head shaved is another side of the story. The hair loss products claim them as medically proven and people are trying these products with no success at all. I’m sure if you are the one then you definitely have tried some of these products. Since you have tried the product, so do you have any idea about hair loss products? You will definitely say No. This is because one product, which may be good for one person, may be a dump for other and vice-versa.

In most of the hair loss cases it has been found that the hair loss products recommended by a physician gave better results. That’s why, hair loss today is not merely the baldness but a type of sickness which need to be checked, diagnosed and treated by an expert physician rather than going for trial and error method, using sometime one hair loss product, then next, and then so on, which may be of no result. So if you are suffering with hair problems, you need to identify your hair loss problems and see your physician, and get the problem solved.

Clinical diagnosis of hair loss patients suggests that in most of the cases, the reason of hair loss was improper diet, a deficiency of different vitamins and minerals in the body, stress, side effects of medications for any particular sickness, irregular sleep, etc. So, it is obvious that if you are suffering from hair loss or some one around you and you want to help the person, then try to identify the problem of hair loss and take good medical help of experts rather than trying products available in the store shelves.

Sometime a person suffering with hair loss may opt for herbal hair loss products, because it is believed that herbal remedies causes no or minimal side effects. If you are the one, and thinking to buy some herbal hair loss product then make sure that the product you are going to try will restore dead hair follicles and support hair growth. But at the same time remember that these herbal remedies may cause side effects, so it is best favorable to you to go for your doctors’ advice before trying any herbal hair loss product as well.

Women: Be cautious; if you are suffering with hair problems, then never use any hair loss product without getting an expert advice. Some of the hair loss products may cause growth of hair all over the body and definitely you don’t want hair on your upper lips.

There it is best advisable for both the sexes to take precaution, and try only products recommended by a qualified doctor. You also need to understand the causes of hair loss, so that you can help yourself and others to minimize the chances of hair loss / baldness or prevent it.

The following things, you need to understand to prevent your hair problems:

1.The ways to either prevent or stop hair loss and the knowledge of restoring hair growth.

2.The ways to achieve lifespan of hair cells and promoting follicles growth.

3.Several internal and external factors also affects your hair health and promote the things like thinning hairs etc, knowing these factors and also having the knowledge of hair and scalp rejuvenation.

4.Some cosmetic products also may harm your hair, so if you have opted for some new product and you are feeling some problems, switch it over, immediately. Go for your old brand. After all ‘old is gold’.

5.Know your diet and life style, which will suit your hair too.

6.Know the methods of improving hair longevity.

7.Hair loss in some cases is genetic, knowing the fact and knowledge of how to minimize it will help a lot.

8.Hair loss is equally common amongst women, so women should also know the causes and cure of it.

9.Stress, high blood pressure and heart disease also leads to hair loss, knowing the fact and trying to distress, etc. may be of great help.

Vinyl Siding Cost

Karla Buzzell asked:

Your Hair Legacy

All of us, men and women, have a hair legacy which we need to preserve. Hair loss is often misunderstood. Hair is often regarded as a reflection of health. On average we have 100,000 to 150,000 hairs. People are sensitive about the quality of their hair. Very recent research has made it possible for science to understand the secret life of hair, from its birth to death.

Hair Physiology

MELANOCYTES: these cells supply the pigments which give hair its color. DERMAL PAPILLA: play a vital role in supplying the scalp with blood. HAIR FOLLICLE: this is a double sheath which anchors hair in the epidermis and dermis. SEBACEOUS GLAND: this gland helps keep hair permanently lubricated. HORRIPILATE MUSCLE: this muscle makes hair bristle in cases of stress. HAIR STEM: composed entirely of keratin-packed cells. CORTEX: hair color is determined by melanin located in the center of the hair stem in the cuticle (keratin filaments make up the structure of the cuticle). BULB: each hair is implanted in the skin by means of a bulb which is produced by a rich and important area, the matrix. MATRIX: a hair production workshop, the matrix allows germinal cells to divide rapidly so that older, keratinised cells are pushed outwards. The hair stems originate here.

The Hair Cycle

Hair is a living material and is therefore undergoes growth and death cycles.

Hair in the growth phase: anagenesis Hair in the non-growth phase: catagenesis Hair in the falling phase: telogenesis The ideal ratio is 4 anagenesis: 1 telogenesis.

Generally speaking, for hormonal reasons, men\’s hair does not grow as long as women\’s hair. There are evidently many factors, environmental or stress-related, that can affect, if not disrupt, the hair cycle. Disruption of hair growth generally originates in the deepest part of the hair: the matrix. Alopecia is very commonly linked to hormone imbalances (androgenetic alopecia) and can affect both men and women, although it is more common in men. Apart from extreme or pathological cases, alopecia in women is linked to the aging process which leads to hormonal imbalances such that the hair cycle becomes shorter.

Sudden Hair Loss

Sudden hair loss in women or men is a handicap that is often neglected. Many factors, whatever a person\’s age, can lead to sudden hair loss or gradual loss of hair over a period of time.

The main causes of sudden hair loss:

Physical fatigue or overworking Neuro-vegetative disorders Trauma and shock (birth, surgery) Infectious diseases Certain types of medication Hormonal disorders Professional factors Hereditary factors

In addition, alopecia can occur as a result of treating the hair and scalp harshly, for example, through the use of overly detergent shampoos, perms, dyeing and aggressive backcombing, in addition to the mechanical effects of brushing.

Some Types Of Hair Loss Are Often Neglected

hair loss in teens hair loss in young women stress hair loss pregnancy hair loss post partum hair loss

What To Do About Hair Loss

When hair loss starts to be excessive (over 30 to 50 hairs per day), whether in men or women, treatment has to be started in order to stop hair loss or to prevent it becoming worse. We carry a complete line of hair products for the treatment of hair loss. Our ECRINAL® products are tested and world renown.

http://www.beauty-fromheadtotoe.com carries a complete line of hair products for the treatment of hair loss.
Corwin Brown asked:

The thinning of hair on the scalp is known as hair loss. In medical terminology it is referred to as alopecia which can be temporary or permanent. The most common form of hair loss occurs gradually and is known as androgenetic alopecia, a combination of hormones and heredity.

Other types of hair loss include alopecia areata, telogen affluvium and traction alopecia. Age is the most prominent cause of hair loss in both men as well as women, but is generally found to be more prominent in men.

Hair is made up of a protein called keratin. A single hair comprises of a hair strand, a root below the skin and a follicle from which the hair grows. The hair bulb is located at the lower end of the follicle which produces the hair’s pigment color or melanin.

It is normal to lose an average of 50-100 hairs a day as they tend to grow back in the same follicle. But if you are experiencing unusual or more hair loss accompanied by visibly thin or balding patches you need to visit your doctor. It is necessary to take sound medical advice and determine the exact reason for hair loss. Correct diagnosis will lead to the correct treatment and can aid in rectifying any underlying causes for the loss of hair.

Causes for Hair Loss:

There are several reasons for hair loss ranging from genetic tendencies and hormonal imbalance to ill health and poor nutrition. Some of the causes of hair loss are:

Alopecia Areata: This is an autoimmune skin disease which triggers the damage of hair follicles by a person’s own immune system. It causes hair loss on the scalp as well as elsewhere on the body. Research shows that over 4 million people are affected by alopecia areata in the United States alone. The disease is said to affect 1.7 per cent of the population at the global level.

Alopecia areata begins as a single or multiple round bald patches on the scalp and can lead to complete hair loss. It can affect both men and women and often begins in childhood. The hair usually grows back in a period of 6 months to 2 years, except for a few cases.

Androgenetic alopecia: This is also called male-pattern baldness and affects the majority of men. Androgenetic alopecia is caused by a number of factors including hormones called androgens and genetic causes. Some males begin to show signs of hair loss in their mid teens. This type of hair loss can also occur due to intake of steroids like testosterone used in body building.

Medical conditions and hormonal imbalance: Hair loss can also be triggered by endocrine (hormonal) conditions affecting the body such as diabetes or thyroid. People with kidney and liver disorders can also experience excessive hair loss. Young girls and women might experience hair loss due to the hormone imbalance that occurs in polycystic ovary syndrome.

Telogen effluvium: Women often experience excessive shedding of hair after childbirth. Hair loss can also result after fever, a long term illness, surgery, intake of anesthesia or sudden weight loss. This type of hair loss is usually temporary and corrects itself with time.

Medications: Certain medications also have hair loss as a side effect like lithium, isotretinoin, diet pills and chemotherapy drugs. Prolonged intake of these drugs can lead to total hair loss.

Trichotillomania: It is a psychological disorder where people repeatedly pull their hair out. This results in bald patches and hair damage. People suffering from this disorder need professional help and medication.

Poor nutrition: A poor diet can also result in hair loss. Eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia are known to initiate hair loss. It is important for the body to get sufficient proteins, vitamins and minerals in order to sustain hair growth. A balanced diet is essential for hair growth along with the correct amount of supplements.

Hair treatments: Regular hair styling and exposure of hair to harsh chemicals such as hair dyes, bleaching creams, hair gels, hair straightening and perming ingredients can result in temporary or permanent hair loss. This can also result in permanent baldness in some cases. Wearing your hair pulled back extremely tightly that it places tension on the scalp is called traction alopecia and can result in permanent hair damage if the style is worn for a long period of time.

Hair Care Tips:

·	It is important to take good care of your hair in order to avoid hair loss. It is necessary to intake a healthy diet rich in all the essential vitamins, minerals and proteins necessary for hair growth to sustain beautiful hair for a longer time.

·	Use shampoos that are mild such as baby shampoos as they are less harsh on the hair in comparison to the stronger ones. Do not change your shampoo on a regular basis. Shampooing more than once in a day leads to hair damage. Lather your hair gently and do not dry it vigorously with a towel.

·	Let your hair dry naturally; avoid using a blow drier every now and then. Regular use of blow drier results in hair damage and the hair loses most of its natural luster.

·	Style your hair only when it’s dry. Brushing or combing wet hair can cause it to stretch and break.

Everyone wants to have beautiful hair. Thus, it is essential to take proper care of it and consult a good doctor in case of excessive hair loss. The secret to having a well nourished mane lies in a healthy diet, keeping fit and going low on chemicals.

Metal Kitchen Cabinets

Nick Mutt asked:

Hair loss is a problem that is common to all irrespective of race or culture. Mild hair loss is not that obnoxious, but hair loss in excessive may require proper medical attention. There are many causes of hair loss and several factors may contribute to excessive hair loss. In this article, we will explore some of the major causes of hair loss.

Heredity

Heredity factors are the first among them. The most common type of hair loss is Androgenetic alopecia that refers to the predisposition of baldness. However, the role of heredity in hair loss is not simple. The genetic propensity along with the prevalence of androgen hormone and ageing plays an important role in developing baldness.

Hormonal Dysfunction

Hormonal dysfunction may lead to premature hair loss. Many important hormones are secreted from thyroid gland. Individuals having hyperactive or less active thyroid gland may experience hair loss problems. Such type of hair loss problem can be solved with thyroid treatment. The imbalance occurred in sex hormones, androgens and estrogens, is also believed to be one of the major causes of hair loss. Many women experience hair loss problems during pregnancy as well as prior and post delivery stages. This all occurs due to hormonal imbalance within the body system.

Psychological Factors

Stress is an important factor responsible for hair loss. According to several studies, if someone is not experiencing any apparent factors that may contribute to hair loss, but is undergoing through stress, he or she may experience hair loss problems. Essentially, stress is related to two types of hair loss problems – Telogen effluvium and Alopecia areata. Apart from that, psychological dysfunction may contribute to hair loss such as trichotillomania.

Major Illness

Several times, some major illnesses such as typhoid, malaria also results in excessive hair loss. If someone undergoes through chemotherapy, it results in remarkable hair loss, and in most of the cases, it is incurable also. Apart from that, surgical intervention is also considered as one of the major causes of hair loss. A temporary condition for hair loss may be induced due to stressors experienced at the time of illness.

Medication

There are some particular medicines that promote hair loss. However, in most of the cases, this is temporary. When you stop taking that particular medicine promoting hair loss, the problem alleviates. Blood thinners or anticoagulants, gout medicines, chemotherapy, steroids, interferon, excessive amount of vitamin A, birth control pills and antidepressants are the medications that are considered as the causes of hair loss.

Fungal Infection

Different types of fungal infections may also be responsible for your hair loss. It is quite common in children to see hair loss problems due to fungal infection on the scalp area. However, such type of fungal infection can be treated using antifungal medications.

Improper Hair Care

Sometimes improper hair care can also contribute to hair loss, hence it can be considered as one of the main causes of hair loss. If you tie your wet hair or pull your hair with tight hair rollers, you may experience traction alopecia, a type of hair loss. Chemical treatment associated with permanents, also known as ‘perms’, may also cause hair loss to some people, leading to experience scarring and inflammation on the affected areas.

Internal Health Diseases

Certain diseases like lupus or diabetes may also cause hair loss problems. In these cases, hair loss is considered as one of the early warning signs of the diseases. So if you are loosing your hair without any apparent reason, it is always advisable that do not neglect the situation and immediately consult for guidance from expert health practitioners.

I hope I have covered all the major causes of hair loss. So, take care of your hair and live a stress free healthy life.

Disclaimer: This article is not meant to provide health advice and is for general information only.
