Bronwyn Stringer asked:

There are many problems which are faced by many people and hair loss is one of them. People believe that hair loss is for people who are old. But the truth is hair loss can affect anyone young old, men women all are targets of hair loss.

Hair growth normally goes through a fairly steady progress of growing, resting, and shedding. It is said that at any moment, up to 90% of a person\’s hair is growing and the other 10% is resting. As hair falls out, a new strand grows in the empty follicle, continuing the cycle. For some, the process is not quite as regular.

There are many factors that cause hair loss or thinning hair. One of the main causes is heredity. If hair loss runs in the family, the chances of a person experiencing hair loss increase dramatically.

Another reason for hair loss is stress and lifestyle. In today\’s increasingly fast-paced society, the regular stress of day-to-day activities increases, as do the chances for experiencing hair loss.

Hormone imbalances are also a known cause of hair loss. In men, an abundance of the hormone known as DHT is known to cause problems with hair loss. As a man\’s hair naturally sheds itself, what are known as DHT receptor sites build up in the follicles. The excess DHT builds up in the follicle and over time causes the follicles to shrink. With each hair cycle, the follicles get smaller. Eventually, the follicle is too small to let hair through, resulting in thinning hair and ultimately hair loss.

Women have lesser level of DHT effect as the have a hormone called estrogen present which will lesser the affect of excess DHT.

But there are many other causes that may lead to hair loss problems in women, such as pregnancy or taking pills for birth control may cause hormonal changes in women. These changes will affect some women and causes hair loss. When a woman is pregnant, there are certain hormones which are produced in high levels. Such hormones generated will halt the hair growth process in the resting stage. After the hormones regain after pregnancy the process continues and these extra hair will fall off. Which might seem like hair loss, but it is the natural part of pregnancy.

If you are experiencing sudden hair loss or thinning of hair then you must take an appointment with a dermatologist. Hair can be due to infections, diabetes or lupus may cause hair fall. It\’s better to know the disease early and cure it before it\’s late.

Hair loss can be an embarrassing situation for anyone, young or old. But there are things that can be done to stop hair loss and even re-grow lost hair. If you find yourself experiencing hair loss, see your dermatologist.

How long does it take for hair loss to stop once re-starting birth control pills?

Monday, May 10th, 2010
KAREN B asked:

My Dr. recently diagnosed my hair thinning as loss of hormones following endometrial ablation. I have just started taking Necon 1/50 (birth control pills containing 1 mg of norenthidrone and 50 mcg of mestranol). I was curious as to approximately what the time line is for when I will stop seeing so much hair falling out.
I have regrowth. I also started using women’s Rogaine and
taking hair, skin and nail vitamins for about 2 weeks now.
The hair loss has been going on for approximately 2 months. I am 40 years old.

Paul Rodgers asked:

Some men don’t think that hair loss treatments are a subject worthy of their attention; that is, until they start seeing more hair in the sink, or in the tub, than they see on their head.

It is estimated that nearly thirty percent of all people suffering from hair loss or hair loss symptoms and in need of hair loss treatments are indeed women. There are a variety of female hair loss reasons and for a woman it can be devastating but in most cases hair loss treatments are very effective.

Traditional herbs that are useful as natural hair loss treatments are green tea, liquorice extract,

horsetail, ginger, psoralea seeds, apple cider vinegar, rosemary and sage tea. Provillus® Natural Hair Loss Treatments are clinically proven to re-grow hair and use the only FDA approved ingredients for treating thinning hair.

If you are genetically or hormonally set on the path of losing hair, nutrition alone might not be enough to prevent it, but it will slow down the hair loss, and will also help with regrowth of lost hair. If you are looking for the best hair regrowth products, always remember to use treatments that contain active ingredients that are known to be effective in treating hair loss.

For most men suffering from Alopecia Areata, or male pattern baldness, 5% Minoxidil is usually required to achieve satisfactory hair regrowth. There is no need for women to use the Saw Palmetto with the Hair Regrowth Solution as your requirements are different to men. Provillus Hair Regrowth Solution provides the best results in treatment of hereditary hair thinning and hair

loss both in men and women ensuring them with thick and luxurious hair.

Hair loss, especially that seen from male pattern baldness, androgenetic alopecia, and chemotherapy treatments, occurs when a healthy hair follicle is

damaged or enters a prolonged dormant stage. If you’ve decided you need to do something to reverse hair loss, but you want something cheaper and more

natural than drugs, laser treatments, plugs, or transplants, what are your alternatives. Male hair loss treatments are available as topical applications like minoxidil, which is applied on the scalp. Another of the better-known herbal hair loss treatments is green tea, which you may also have sitting in you kitchen.

Doctor recommended hair loss treatments are a better option as they are prescribed according to individual hair loss problems. The first thing doctors do when dealing with hair loss treatments is to try and figure out the possible reasons behind a patient’s hair loss problem and recommend treatments based on their hair texture and condition. Normally the hair loss treatments recommended by doctors for men and women are different because of hair growth.

It is observed that Proscar and Rogaine are the most commonly prescribed hair loss treatments by doctors for men whereas Minoxodil proves to be helpful for both men and women. The only FDA-approved commercial hair loss treatments are minoxidil and finasteride, and these products have limited effectiveness. Natural hair loss treatments don’t have an immediate effect but they don’t have side effects either.

Hair loss treatments are generally classified as either medical or oral and topical treatments. Once you have determined what the cause or causes are of your hair loss problem, you are then able to move on and make the most informed decision in terms of which hair loss treatments are going to be most suitable for you. Provillus Hair Regrowth Solution is a healthy supplement based on only natural FDA-approved ingredients which helps men and women with specific hair ailments like thinning or hair loss.

christine asked:

I’ve been using shampoos that are quite creamy to give moisture to your hair for a few months now. Then I realize that I’ve been having a sticky residue of the shampoo stuck on my hair that takes ages to wash off. And now, its causing hair loss and hence some baldness on my head. How do I solve this??

Has anyone found that grapefruit could decrease hair loss?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010
Wend Song asked:

I have found that adding two fresh PINK grapefruits a day decreased the amount of hair loss by 75%. No other change in my diet. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience? (I am not advocating grapefruit, just want to know your experience.)
Actually, I am hoping someone will answer that has had a similar experience. Why try a medication when diet will do the trick?
