What can cause hair loss in a 21 year old female?

So when I was 17 or 18 I noticed my hair was getting thinner. Around the same time I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on atenolol and also taken off birth control pills. The only reason I don’t think either of those is the reason for my hair loss is because I thought my hair was thinning before any of that occurred but I am not 100% sure. I am starting to get noticeable bald spots(I guess lines) and I am starting to freak out. What can be causing this and what an I do to fix it?
