Does biotin cause hair loss and does it help you loose weight?

I just started taking biotin on Wednesday I take 3 pills of 1000 mcg per pill. I have been researching to see if it causes hair loss, I want to know if it causes hair loss or does it make your hair grow. I want answers from an experienced biotin taker(someone who has been taking biotin for a while) also does it help you loose weight?
