Hair Loss

I am a 20 year old male. I am growing my hair really long.

But I noticed the longer I grow it, it seems to thin out more.

Anyway, as a male, if you have really long hair does that increase the chances of hair loss?

I noticed when I comb my hair, hair comes falls out. And I have more lost hair near my pillows.
Or is this natural?

I am just afraid if I keep wanting to grow it out, when I finally decide to have short hair again, I am going to have less hair and much thinner hair.
